What To Wear {St Catharines Family Photographer}

Spring is arriving! Yesterday I sat outside almost the entire day while my kids played and it was just beautiful! Watching Kingston discover the outside on his own is just adorable. Last year he wasn’t walking yet and this year he just has the freedom to wander and do as he likes. Needless to say- our bathtub was full of dirt after those three were washed up for bed. I think it’s going to be a fun summer for all of us! I’m already planning out our family session for September- I can’t wait! I’ve got the inspiration and I know the photographer is going to do an amazing job- so, so excited!

If you’re planning on a family session this year, please contact me as soon as possible! As previously mentioned, I’m booking up quickly…and I’d love to be able to accommodate everybody. Here’s some lovely spring like wardrobe inspiration. I love Mom’s shoes and necklace and the color combo of navy and fresh corals and greens! I honestly believe a complimentary wardrobe is SO important to your images, and encourage you to look through the previous What to Wears as well. Also, browse magazines and take a look at the advertisements- how are the models dressed? Usually there are a few patterns, a limited color palette, and lots of textures. And with the exception of Tide ads, the model family usually does not wear matching khaki pants and polo shirts… haha

I know, the blog has been quiet again but that’s not to say I haven’t been busy! Recently I wrapped up a personal project, a Mom 2 Mom sale I organize every year with a group of amazing girlfriends for a non-profit charity. It’s always a lot of work and a lot of fun! This year I had a booth set up again, but because I was so busy at the sale, I only have some incredibly lousy images that I’m too embarrassed to share! Which is really, really sad considering how much time I put into it! So I’ll just share this image of the banner I had made up for the sale and other promotional activities. I just love the design of it! There are some of my favorite little people on there!

I’ve also been working on a lot of business stuff, and enjoying the fun with the giveaway (have you entered yet?! click here) and helping my sister plan her wedding all the way from Australia. On that note, I wanted to mention my booking availability. I will not be taking any sessions or weddings in the whole month of May so that I can spend that time with my sister while she is here! Weekend sessions are already booking up all the way through to August (only one weekend left in July!). If you are hoping to have your family session done this year, or planning on a session for your children, please contact me as soon as possible so you can get the date you are hoping for. I am still taking evening sessions for weekdays during the summer months, and it’s always my favorite time of day to shoot as well! I look forward to hearing from you! Me & Mine | 3/13 {Niagara Baby Photographer}

This past month we were able to spend some time with Greg’s dad’s side of the family. We got together at Grandview Horse Farms in Fonthill, where Greg’s uncle lives and his cousin runs a horse barn. It was a beautiful day for February- mild, sunny, and nice enough that we could all spend a fair bit of time outdoors. We roasted hot dogs in the outdoor fireplace, went sledding down a leaf covered hill (no snow here!) and spent some time in the barn with the horses. Our girls have ridden on ponies a few times at fairs and such, but they are so terrified of all animals that we thought they likely wouldn’t ride them that day. They proved us wrong! They both LOVED their ride and talk about it all the time. This hasn’t cured them of their animal fear though- we still had to CARRY them past the little cats in the aisles of the barn! lol Kingston stared at the animals as if they were from a freak show. He has only seen a cat once or twice and I don’t think he’d seen a real horse before. It was kinda funny (and made me feel like a bad mumma!) We also got a family picture taken thanks to Steff! I think we’re getting a little bit better at this family picture stuff…When I mentioned to Greg that I’d chosen a theme that didn’t involve a family picture every month, I expected that he would be relieved. Instead, he was upset that he wasn’t going to be included! Apparently he likes the end result, just not what it takes to get said end result. So, that being said- here’s Me & Mine!
