Inspire Me Baby recently invited all their readers to share their favorite image of 2011 and I decided to participate again this year: 1. Because I love their blog and 2. Because it was definitely interesting trying to come up with an absolute favorite. I decided to go with a business image because it wouldn’t be right to pick one of my kids and I’m way too biased to do that anyway, lol. So here it is. I love this image because of her soft smile, the beautiful light, and the framing with the bridge above her. If you can, imagine this image without the bridge on top- it just wouldn’t have the same impact. I love it. In fact, this gorgeous mama is now overdue and I am waiting to hear from her so we can do her newborn shoot! Can’t wait!

We did it! Made it through a whole year with one family image per month. To you it probably doesn’t sound hard, but attempting it with three small children and one grumpy husband (sorry honey, you know it’s true!) and a self timer was not easy at all! Here’s our last image for 2011!

As good a reason as any other, this session came about because part of Jordyn’s family was visiting from Australia. Finally reunited again, Jordyn wanted to capture this moment with images to preserve their memories. I truly think this gift to her family is the most precious one they will receive this Christmas! I have now photographed Jordyn’s little family three times in a year (see here and here) and always love seeing them! Little Benjamin has grown into a gorgeous little one year old and it was so great to see him again! Enjoy a taste of their session!

Sweet baby Aurora is the long awaited daughter of a good friend of mine and I was so excited to have her as the very first newborn my studio! She was so good, although she liked to open her eyes every once in a while in her sleep, just to keep us on our toes! We also got some cute pics with her proud big brother Owen. The images at the end of this post were taken at the very end of our session- clearly Aurora was done with her modeling stint and thought she’d been co-operative long enough! Owen was so sweet and patient- he’s going to make a very good big brother!
This image was ordered as a 10×20, which is a very tall, narrow crop. It works perfectly for this shot! I can’t wait to see it in print! (and for those concerned about newborn safety, please be assured this was done with mom right nearby the baby and edited out of the final image)

Aidan was already a 4 week old little guy when we met but he was still so little! Born at 6 pounds, he was just reaching 8 pounds and so thankfully he fit a lot of my little hats and other props! What a cute little guy- I just loved snuggling him!
This is my fave shot- he has the most adorable face doesn’t he?!
